Chief Finance & Administrative Officer

Chris Taylor

WHY LITTLE CITY

“I owe much of this to my wonderful daughter, Jennifer. Jennifer is currently a Special Education Teacher at Mundelein High School. When I was looking for a Career change (about 5 years ago), I mentioned that I was thinking of applying for the Director of Accounting position at Little City. Jennifer raved about how Little City was just a fantastic organization; so, I applied. Then after my interviews and especially after having talked with Shawn, I knew that I was coming to an organization with a great mission and that Little City was where I wanted to be.”

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Chris has been with Little City since 2016. He was hired as the Director of Accounting and was later promoted to Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO).

With over 40 years of accounting and finance experience, Chris is a results-oriented, tested and proven executive who has demonstrated effective leadership, sound business judgment with exceptional analytical and communication skills. Pro-active with broad experience in all aspects of accounting and financial management. Includes hands-on experience in management, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and financial and operational reporting. Well-disciplined with proven abilities to manage multiple assignments efficiently under extreme pressure while meeting tight deadlines. Strong team builder and facilitator, who places a high value on teamwork, integrity, innovation, accountability and customers.

Chris received his Bachelor Degree in Business and Administration in June 1981; majoring in Accounting from Northeastern Illinois University. He is also a Registered CPA in the State of Illinois.

PERSONAL LIFE
First and foremost, I enjoy being with my family. I absolutely adore my wife (Marina), three children (Steph, Jen and Chris) and two grandchildren (Rose and Reilly). I am truly blessed.
Being one of eleven, I am also blessed with my mom and all of my brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. We all live close and see each other often. I count on seeing many of them on Sundays at my mom’s house, who always puts out a vat of spaghetti for anyone who could make it. Christmas time with them is a blast.
I also like to read, am a big Cubs fan, enjoy most sports (especially playing Golf and basketball), hanging out at home in the pool, dinner and a movie with my wife, trips to Galena, and vacationing.
If you weren’t the CFAO at Little City, what would you most likely be doing?
Unfortunately, I never possessed the skill set to be a major league ball player or professional golfer, so that is out. A sportscaster would also have been nice. But if I wasn’t the CFAO at Little City, I would probably be in a similar type role at another organization. Happy to say, that I am with Little City and love working for this organization.
