It is with great sadness that we share that longtime resident Susan Lavieri has passed away at the age of 73.

Susan lived at the Cedar Home at Little City for 22 years, becoming a staple for both her housemates and staff alike. She was affectionately referred to as Mama Sue in the home and the other women would often follow her lead.

While mostly nonverbal, Sue was known for her independent streak and determination to do what she was passionate about. Sue loved the horseback riding program through Little City, activities with her housemates, and watching her favorite show, Golden Girls. Before coming to Little City, Sue even worked at Forkosh Hospital.

Crystal Valley, who supported Sue at the Cedar Home for many years, said she was one of the loveliest and happiest women she ever met.

“She was tiny and tough and never let anything get in her way,” Crystal said. “The residents in that home have been together so long and they just all love each other. She meant so much to them and the staff who had the opportunity to work with her. Everyone loved Sue.”

Sue will be greatly missed by all at Little City, but the impact she had on all she knew will carry on in our hearts.
