Jess Ruiter, MA

Jess graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Child Development from Michigan State University, and later with her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Child & Adolescent treatment from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

While obtaining her MA, she interned within a broad variety of clinical and treatment settings, including school environment, outpatient services, private practice and at various levels of formalized inpatient psychiatric facility services. Jess primarily utilizes a trauma-informed therapeutic perspective and case management services to children and adolescents struggling with persistent and extensive mental health needs including mood disorders, PTSD, grief, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), and conduct disorder.

Jess has experience working as a community support specialist with adult populations, which required dual clinical and case management skills tailored to address presenting problems and subsequently, promote progression towards treatment goals. Jess has cultivated an eclectic therapeutic treatment approach adapted to emphasize client-specific needs, strengths, and preferences, with a strong emphasis on establishing positive therapeutic rapport from which treatment services originate.  Jess has experience providing support and case management services, which has proven to contribute to fostering healthy therapeutic environment that permits overall improvements in physical and mental wellbeing and bolster healthy interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Jess strives to provide the highest quality services to help achieve emotional resilience and fortitude relative to prescribed and personal treatment goals. She utilizes an eclectic evidenced-based & strength-based approach that relies heavily on care and compassion, while simultaneously establishing an environment of respect, collaboration, and respect that is tailored to client-specific needs based on personal strengths and preferences for therapeutic treatment.
