Little City’s THRIVE Program is among few in the state serving children with IDD who have the highest level of support needs.

Little City offers a variety of living options for both children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our focus is to provide safe, nurturing environments for residents to learn, grow, and thrive. Our residential facilities are staffed with highly trained Direct Support Professionals and managers who are experienced caring for those with I/DD and understand the full spectrum of services, care, and compassion required depending on the individual’s need level.
Who We Serve
Little City residential services are available for children ages 7-22 and adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Adult Residential Services
Little City offers a variety of living options, both on our Palatine campus and in neighboring communities, providing adults the opportunity to make their own life choices, develop independence, integrate into the community and live life to its fullest potential. The residential program is designed to cater to individuals with varying levels of support needs and independence.
Each individual can find a perfect fit based on their level of independence and support needs. Options range from dorm- and apartment-style living found on Little City’s Palatine campus to Community Integrated Living Arrangements in our surrounding communities.
Residents at Little City stay connected to the greater community while also enjoying the benefits and support found at Little City. Adults can make their own schedules, pursue community-based employment, and engage in Little City programming such as Special Olympics, day programming, and recreational activities and classes.

Children’s Residential Services
Little City’s Children’s Residential program is a therapeutic community fostering independence, growth and learning for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Based on our beautiful Palatine campus, the community of children’s homes offers 24/7 care and support from a team of Direct Support Professionals, therapists, and a health and wellness team who develop individualized plans for each child to help them reach their full potential.
