Supported Living

Designed for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who experience mild to moderate challenges.

About this Program

Little City’s Supported Living Arrangement (SLA) program offers apartment living where adults live by themselves or with a roommate. The ultimate goal for people who live in the SLA is to learn the skills that will enable them to live as independently as possible. Residents in this program have the ability to choose how they spend their day and engage with the community through activities such as grocery shopping, dining, volunteering, and enjoying entertainment options such as going to the movies. All of Little City’s day programming including classes at the Center for Employment & Business Opportunities,Recreation Center, Center for the Arts, Horticulture Center, and our Countryside Center are available to residents.

Who We Serve

Individuals in this program are mostly independent and require less help and supervision.

What To Expect

We help people with budget skills, grocery shopping, or exploring work options. Those in SLAs are within walking distance of all of Little City’s buildings and programs on the Palatine campus. Many SLA residents have community-based employment and are able to manage their own transportation to and from work and even for errands such as grocery shopping.
