THRIVE Homes
Little City's THRIVE Program is among few in the state serving children with IDD who have the highest level of support needs.

About this Program
The THRIVE program serves children with profound intellectual and developmental disabilities who might otherwise require institutional settings or out-of-state services to receive the support they need.
Launched in conjunction with Little City’s Center for Education, residents in this program have a full spectrum support team that works together from the home through the school day to establish a level of consistency and routine that helps each child develop vital skills. The focus of the program is to reduce behaviors in individuals, creating a safer environment for them and others while equipping them with the methods and tools needed to improve emotional regulation and achieve a higher level of independence.

Who We Serve
Children ages 10-22 who have profound autism and often carry multiple diagnoses who would otherwise need institutional settings or seek services outside of the state.
What To Expect
THRIVE Home residents are offered a variety of activities that facilitate and promote growth and learning. Based on a client-centered assessment and planning process, each child is provided with an Individualized Residential Service Plan and Mental Health Assessment that guides intervention and engagement. Each home provides individual bedrooms, sensory rooms, and communal spaces so that each child can develop independence and social skills and build a strong foundation to prepare them for adulthood.
Each of the two THRIVE homes at Little City have fewer residents than the Duffey Family Children’s Village homes, a greater staff-to-resident ratio to increase support, and enhanced safety features and sensory rooms. Residents also utilize the Center for Education where they have larger classroom spaces, a full team of teachers, therapists, and support staff and a specialized curriculum with the goal of moving to less restrictive classrooms.
