Every child deserves a place where they can learn, grow, and be understood.
At Little City’s Center for Education, we serve children and young adults whose autism, intellectual disabilities, and other complex needs require specialized educational and therapeutic support beyond what their home school districts can provide. For these students, success isn’t measured by a single test score — it’s found in learning to communicate a need, participating in a group activity, building confidence, or taking the next step toward greater independence.
Who We Serve
Little City’s Center for Education is a therapeutic day school serving students ages 7 through 22 with moderate to profound disabilities. Many of our students have struggled in traditional educational settings before arriving at Little City, where individualized support, specialized therapies, and compassionate educators help them reach goals that once seemed out of reach.
Whether they live at home or in one of Little City’s residential programs, every student receives an education designed around their unique strengths, challenges, and potential.
What We Provide
Our approach goes far beyond academics.
With small class sizes, low student-to-staff ratios, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, therapists, and specially trained educators working together, every student receives personalized instruction and therapeutic support tailored to their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
This past year, every classroom was equipped with interactive SmartBoards, every student had access to a Chromebook, and new evidence-based learning tools were introduced to strengthen literacy, math, communication, and progress monitoring. These investments allow our educators to better engage students, adapt instruction in real time, and celebrate every milestone along the way.
Most importantly, our students learn life skills that prepare them for greater independence both inside and outside the classroom.

New instructional tools and individualized learning programs helped students achieve this amazing impact across our school community:
- Average gain of 74% growth rate in student’s IEP goals from baseline to target.
- 3 students successfully faded their 1:1 aide support.
- 4 students successfully transitioned from THRIVE to our Center for Education.
- 8 students were recommended to transition to their home school district program or another less restrictive environment.
- 20+ students significantly reduced challenging behaviors while increasing positive self-regulation strategies.
- 15+ students demonstrated an increased use of replacement strategies such as requesting breaks, utilizing sensory supports, and independently advocating for their needs.
- 18+ students made meaningful gains in communication using verbal language, AAC devices, or PECS systems.
- 20+ students increased their academic engagement and work stamina.
- 8 students progressed from speaking in one- or two-word responses to independently using three- to six-word phrases during classroom and social activities.
These milestones represent thousands of moments of patience, encouragement, and individualized support that help students discover what they are capable of achieving.

This new school year, Little City’s Center for Education is welcoming nearly 50 students, each arriving with unique strengths, challenges, and incredible potential.
Every student deserves access to the tools and resources that help them feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn.
Sensory supports, adaptive learning materials, classroom technology, communication tools, and therapeutic resources all play an essential role in helping students regulate emotions, develop new skills, and build independence. As enrollment continues to grow, so does the need for these specialized supplies across all of our classrooms.
