Our Mission, Vision & Values

Our Mission

Building people up with the skills, voice, and confidence to navigate intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health, and life.

Our Vision

A world of belonging, purpose, and opportunity for people of all abilities.

How We Do It

We proactively and continually strive for each person we serve to:

  1. Be included in their community
  2. Have someone they consider a friend
  3. Continuously learn and build their skills

Our Values

We Include: We foster a culture of belonging that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, honoring each person’s dignity, individuality, and lived experience.

We Elevate: We lead with empathy and humanity, creating environments where individuals are seen, valued, and encouraged to grow.

We Adapt: We respond with resilience to a changing world, continuously learning and improving to better serve others.

We Advocate: We amplify voices, break barriers, and challenge the status quo to advance equity and belonging.

We Lead: We disrupt with purpose, take action with courage, and drive bold innovation and meaningful change.

Our History

Little City was established in 1959 by a group of parents who dreamed of a revolutionary environment for their children whom “experts” often said should be institutionalized. Over the years, Little City has grown to serve both children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with a wide scope of programs and services.
